Style a Bookcase like a Pro!

A Home for Books to Live! Reading is always a good idea. Books are priceless possessions that accumulate over the years. Even at this digital era where cell-phones, tablets and all those gadgets that help us read on the go, can't replace a good hardbound book. If you're like me, proud owner of many books, then you probably already own a bookcase. As a matter of fact I have three, so far. Although, styling a bookcase is a big challenge, my styling tips will turn your "book-show-case" into a functional and aesthetically pleasing home decor addition on a budget.

Fun Reading for a Great Weekend

The weekend is finally here. Elisabeth and I will be attending a Greek designers' event on Saturday, the Pop Up Project: Under the Greek Sun. Jewelry and fashion designers will be showcasing their latest creations. We really look forward to that and we'll be reporting back to you all about it very soon. Meanwhile, let me share with you some fun links from around the web to make your day or better yet your weekend...

How to chill wine in under 3 minutes. That's quite handy to know especially now in the summer. I strongly recommend chilled white wine with summer fruits on the side like, melon, peach and grapes. Just fabulous!

It's too early for me to hit the beach, but for the braves out there check out some great wet beach hair styles.

This is the most ridiculous clean up trick I've ever read about...Let me know if it works!

I don't think anyone really likes insults, so I'm not sure why would anyone want to learn how to insult food by Ramsay Gordon... Still …

Weekend's Fun Reading

The weekend is here. I don't know about you, but this week was very stressful. I'm in the middle of a home improvement project: building a new tiny en-suite bathroom and a book translation among other things. So I'm really looking forward to this weekend and catching up with some reading - FUN reading. Meanwhile, I thought I share with you some fun links from around the web. I hope they brighten your weekend as well!

Wanderlust Adventure: Traveling with a 3 year old to Disneyland Paris

Surprise! About three years ago, George surprised me for our fourth wedding anniversary in July with a fully booked trip to Disneyland Paris. He actually booked at one of Disneyland's hotels for four nights including our passes to both parks. WOW! I was thrilled at first and overwhelmed next! We had been to Disneyland Paris (the first park) two more times as a couple and we both loved the experience, BUT we had a three year old son now and we were both sure that things would be totally different this time. And...they were. So, here I am now, having a nostalgic flashback, recalling all those memories and sharing with you all the highlights and insight on what to expect!

Stylish Outdoor Living

Summertime...and the living is easy!  The temperature has gone up and I'm in a wanderlust mood. Since I can't go on vacation yet, I will improvise. So, I'm planning to create a nice, comfy outdoor nook for me, my family and friends to chill with every chance we get. It will be a great opportunity to get creative and change my everyday routine while spending more time outdoors. That way I will enjoy more my home but at the same time it will feel like I'm on vacation the moment I step out. It will be like having the best of both worlds.

For Mother's Day: Stylish Gift Ideas

New and Old Moms Today I'm really excited. Elisabeth has arranged for our mother to come over and take some photos of us (yes, all imagery is by Elisabeth). Mother's Day is this coming Sunday and I thought that it would be nice to have a photo of my mother, myself and my daughter. It's a photo of three generations of women: an old mom, a new mom, and a daughter who one day might be a mom herself. (Fingers crossed)!

Mykonian Luxurious Minimalism!

Mykonos - the Party Hotspot
There are three holiday destinations that almost everyone has heard of: Mykonos, Santorini and Crete. Mykonos lies almost in the center of the Aegean Sea and it is part of the Cycladic complex. It is the island where Ibiza meets St. Tropez: 24/7 partying in glamour! Its party hard reputation make this cosmopolitan hotspot booming with crowds of party spellbound holidaymakers who want to enjoy an easy going yet, luxurious lifestyle.
Mykonos is an attraction pole for many celebrities. Chances are that you might have seen pictures of celebrities (i.e. Lady Gaga, Ronaldo, the Kardashians, Lindsay Lohan, Nicki Minaj, Nicole Scherzinger, Emilia Clarke, Diana Madison and many more) in lifestyle magazines, relaxing at some gorgeous beach, having fun and partying in Mykonos. What is it that makes Mykonos so attractive...so special? Well, I have a theory based on my past visits to the 'island of the winds'. Mykonos strikes you like a blitz, sweeping you up i…

Wanderlust Adventure: Sailing

A Weekend Sailing at the Greek Islands Some years back, George and I (way before we got married) along with two other couples went sailing for a weekend with a rented Bavaria 38ft cruiser. That was ONE amazing and unforgettable experience. George and one of two other guys had experience in sailing, so they were our skippers. The rest of us were clueless. I had no idea what to expect, but I was ready for the challenge.

We all met at the port of Lavrio. We were supposed to pack light. Having a pair of flat shoes with rubber soles like Ked's was a must to get on board. Well, we all did so except one of the girls whose definition of light was a considerable size suitcase and since she didn't have Keds, she brought platform shoes! LOL! Oh yes, she had to get on board barefoot and stay barefoot for the whole trip. Unfortunately, no one had a spare pair of shoes to lend her :(. The trouble with big suitcases is that you can't really fit them anywhere in a small rented sailboat! …

More is MORE! Hello Maximalism!

Let me tell you a little secret. Nine out of ten of my clients during the first consultation, declare themselves as fans of the philosophy "less is more." They ask for a minimal styled interior within a modern context! BUT, believe it or not I always have to ask them 'how much less is more for you?' Why? Because, almost everyone has a different grasp of minimalism. Minimalism calls for simplicity as a means of a deeper appreciation of our surroundings. But how minimal is your style, and is less really more?
